Commercial Field Technician / Installer

Job Summary: 

Sylvester's Commercial Field Technician will perform Overhead Door Installations, Preventative Maintenance services, and repairs and installation of dock equipment, safety products, and industrial products & services to our commercial customers. This is an hourly position and includes full benefits, including: 401(k) and Health Insurance.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and repair overhead garage doors, dock equipment, automatic gates, safety products, maintenance, and pedestrian doors while working independently or as a team.

  • Install High-Speed Doors as well as repair door panels, operators, motion sensors, etc.

  • Weld parts and equipment as needed.

  • Perform PM services.

  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.

  • Perform emergency repairs.

  • Complete detailed service call updates in our electronic systems.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Provide diagnosis, communicate effectively to customers and company Service Manager/Scheduler after each service call.

  • Clean, organize, stock and maintain our company service truck with parts, tools and supplies.

  • Perform other facility maintenance duties as necessary.

 

Job Requirements and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Welding experience a plus.

  • Mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and writing skills.

  • Able to work after hours and weekends from time-to-time.

  • Willing to travel from time-to-time.

  • Able to pass background check (drug screen, criminal history, motor vehicle, etc).

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand, walk, and lift, bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service overhead doors, operators, levelers, sensors and other equipment as needed.

  • Able to visually inspect overhead doors, operator, levelers and other equipment as needed.

  • Able to use hand tools and power tools.

  • Able to read schematics and work plans.

  • Able to use ladders and work at heights (rooftops, ceilings, etc)

  • Able to work in different temperatures inside and outside.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds to 75 pounds.

  • Able to drive company provided service truck.

Commercial Sales Representative

Job Summary: 

Sylvester's Commercial Sales Representative will sell Overhead Doors, Preventative Maintenance services, and repairs and installation of dock equipment, safety products, and industrial products & services to our commercial customers. This is a salary-based with commission position with unlimited earning potential and includes full benefits, including: 401(k) and Health Insurance. 

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sell, using a consultative approach, overhead garage doors, dock equipment, automatic gates, safety products, maintenance, and pedestrian doors while working independently or as a team.

  • Sell High-Speed Doors as well as repair door panels, operators, motion sensors, etc.

  • Sell Preventative Maintenance services.

  • Complete detailed estimates and updates in our electronic systems.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Provide diagnosis, communicate effectively to customers and company Sales Management, Service Management and Scheduler (s).

  • Represent Sylvester's professionally, ethically and with integrity service our customer's needs.

  • Perform other sales duties as necessary.
